About me and green fitness

…and why I wrote this website

Hi!

And welcome to Greenfitnessworld.com!

My name is Brian Thompson. I currently reside in Ohio, where I live with my beautiful wife and three kids (pictured below). They are age 7, 4 and 2 years and they are the love of my life.  I have been an avid fitness enthusiast for quite some time now and thought I would bring my passion to the web.  I am also quite concerned about our environment and the current state of our nations’ collective health.

My passion has driven me to combine both - fitness and concern for the environment - into a message for all.

Taking care of our earth along with our own well being seems to be a win-win situation.

Our efforts may seem small but they do have that “butterfly effect”.

Why Green Fitness?

Green Fitness provides great health for mind, body, spirit and Mother Earth.

I created this site with a couple purposes in mind.

One  is to help everyone understand how easy it is become green in their fitness. To that end, I am providing articles with different tips and techniques to ensure success.

Without health, there is very little else that matters.

Think about it.

What if the man gains the world, but has no health?

He has nothing.

As an avid fitness enthusiast I wanted to do my part by greening my fitness routine.  This allowed me to give back, not take away, from nature.  I quit going to the gym and started performing fitness exercises that are greener and in-line with nature.

You will see most of them outlined on this site.

My other aim is to demystify much of the hype surrounding the fitness industry.  I want to make it clear that what is going on currently is purely for profit.

This is the sole motivating force of the industry– not your health and well being.

I am here to help you understand this and bring you to the truth.  That will provide you with ever lasting health and fitness.

I have worked hard to become more aware of the truth by educating myself as much as possible.
Reading and studying different material to come up with logical conclusions.  I suggest you do the same as it is best to make informed decisions.  I am only here as a guide.

All I ask is that you consider the wisdom in what I say.

It is, ultimately, your choice, but consider it at least.

If you go in a different direction, I sincerely hope that I have at least awakened you to other possibilities.

And I will consider my job done.

    Hi Brian,
Reading of you and your lovely family was indeed a treat. Love to all of you and may God bless your sincere endeavours.
I read of the phrases green fitness and body weight exercises for the first time when I visited your website by accident. On reading of the concept, I realised that I had been practicing both all my life. For instance, the reason for me being a vegetarian is not because I am a brahmin or for any religious beliefs, but because non vegetarian food causes so much filth, pain and expenditure on the environment. My subsequent yogic studies reinforced my belief that I had no right to cause any creature’s death.
Modern life has stolen from us the activities that gave our ancestors fine healthy physiques and long lives. We therefore develop artificially pumped-up grotesque muscles, to carry which we have to develop more muscle. Body weight exercises can give us awesome efficient physiques. One day I was doing dips in a gym, I was surprised to see a youngster who had a well crafted body, but who was unable to do a single dip, when he went on the parallel bars. This is the first time I actually saw that the finest looking muscles could actually be lumps of useless flesh. What a waste of time and effort.
