Bicycling for the soul

It’s turning out to be a good labor day.  I went for a nice bike ride with my brother-in-law.  He struggled to keep up through the hills but he is only eleven years old.  It was a very challenging ride with lots of hills that gave my legs a good pump.  Going down the hills I got quite a bit of speed and did some intense pedaling and it really felt great.  We were biking in a nice quiet area with a lot of beautiful farmland.  I can’t explain how enjoyable this truly is for the soul.

Health Benefits of bicycling

Bicycling for health is an awesome form of aerobic exercise and greatly reduces your chances of heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity and many other forms of disease caused from a sedentary lifestyle.  One of the greatest things I noticed after this ride was the improvement in the way I felt.  I felt like I had accomplished something for the day and this really improved my spirit and so far has improved the day.

I recommend you add cycling to your weekly fitness routine.  If your commute to work is short enough take the bike and help to save the earth at the same time.  You will quickly join the fittest side of the population and will start to feel great at the same time.  In addition, your leg strength will greatly improve as well as making any task requiring your legs that much easier.
