Best thing is to grow your own vegetables, without pesticides. I enjoy working in my garden and fresh and healthy crops are a sweet reward

We are what we eat. The we look, think or act is a fallout of what
we eat or drink. It is not only what we eat but the manner in which
the food was procured which is of extreme importance. Let us take
the example of three animals say the cheetah, jackal and the
gazelle. The gazelle is docile, swift and has great endurance, it
also needs very little space to subsist on. The cheetah is
aggressive, very fast - faster than the gazelle - but expends its
energy in bursts and requires vast spaces to fulfil its needs, and
lastly the jackal is slow, cowardly and shall we say untrustworthy.
These qualities have been nurtured not only by the food that the
animal eats but also by the method used for its procurement. In
human races we have the semitic and the orientals. The semitic
races are largely non-vegetarian, they are aggressive, have ruled
the world and consume vast resources whereas the orientals who are
largely vegetarian are docile, have rarely ventured beyond their
borders, and need little to subsist on. In individuals the effect
of the food habits, physical and mental capabilities are there for
all to see. We therefore must be careful of what we consume and the
source from where it is procured.

In nature life is generated through life. Raw foods are living. A leaf plucked from a tree is breathing, a raw fruit ripens after plucking the life force is active in both of them. When such foods are consumed in their natural state they lend their life giving energy to us. Therefore consuming such foods makes us healthier. The moment we begin cooking any food item, some portion of it begins to die, the life force in it diminishes, the more we cook it the more its life energy dies, and the more worthless the food becomes. On the other hand, a seed may be said to be in hibernation. When water is added to it, the magic of nature starts, life is released and the seed begins to sprout. Precious minerals and vitamins required to give life to the young plant become active in the little fellow. When such food is consumed, these powerful forces are available to us, they destroy many diseases, overcome infirmities and give health, strength and beauty to the wise person who chooses them over the junk advertised in the market. They say that wheat grass has the same nutrition as 14 times its weight of fresh vegetables, can anyone imagine the loss if we choose not to eat such food. And what does it cost, just a few pennies and the fun of growing such treasures.
